Regional Finance Director (Christian Non-Profit Organization)

The organization is recognized of its global efforts to develop Christian leaders, organizations, and communities. They are looking for an experienced Regional Finance Director who share their faith to maintain the purpose and character of their organization and support their regional operations.

We are seeking an experienced Regional Finance Director to join the team in Bangkok. This role focuses on leading the financial strategy and operations and reports directly to the CFO. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial stewardship, compliance, and strategic planning for their ministry units and legal entities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management within a multi-country, multi-currency environment and a strong understanding of regional financial regulations and practices

Job Responsibilities

Financial Operations and Management

• Oversee the closing of books for Southeast Asia, ensuring all financial statements are accurate, complete, and compliant with both internal policies and local regulations.

• Develop and maintain a streamlined process for month-end and year-end close, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for the country.

• Ensure robust financial management and control across all ministry units, including cash flow management, financial reporting, and compliance with organizational policies and local regulations.

• Coordinate the financial reporting and consolidation process for multiple currencies, ensuring accuracy and timely submission of reports to the global finance team.

• Lead and manage the finance team in Southeast Asia, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.

Financial Strategy and Planning

• Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy for Southeast Asia that is aligned with the organization's overall objectives and mission.

• Oversee the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and optimizing resource allocation across 7+ ministry units and 2+ legal entities.

• Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to the senior leadership team to drive decision-making and strategic planning.

Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations, tax laws, and organizational policies across the countries.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, implementing internal controls and best practices to safeguard the organization's assets and reputation.

• Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and legal advisors to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and standards.

Job Requirements

• As a religious institution, they are looking for individuals who share their christian faith to maintain the purpose and character of their organization and support their regional operations.

• Relevant degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. A master's degree or professional qualification is highly desirable.

• Relevant years of progressive experience in financial management, with experiences in senior finance role overseeing multiple countries and currencies.

• Proven experience in managing a $3-5 million+ budget within a complex, multi-entity environment.

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and practices in Southeast Asia and South Asia, including experience with legal entities and compliance requirements.

• Exceptional analytical, strategic planning, and financial reporting skills.

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional regional languages is an advantage
