Assistant Project Engineering Manager (Brownfield), Chonburi

Monroe Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a global, fast-growing consumer manufacturing leader is expanding its footprint in Thailand with continuous capital investments and brownfield plant developments. We are seeking a high-Caliber Senior Project Engineer to join an elite project management office.

This high-visibility, permanent role bridges deep engineering rigor with commercial strategy, taking full ownership of critical workstreams from facility improvements and brownfield expansion to product commercialization and sustainability initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional project teams from initiation to handover, managing scope, schedules, CAPEX budgets, quality, and stakeholder alignment.

• Drive capital improvements, facility expansion, equipment installation, and commercialization projects applying structured Commissioning, Validation, and Start-up (CVS) frameworks.

• Review and challenge technical drawings, equipment datasheets, vendor submissions, and engineering method statements. Prepare technical feasibility studies, ROI calculations, and formal business cases.

• Proactively track project budgets, forecast completion costs, flag variances early, and resolve deviations before they impact critical path timelines.

• Serve as the technical bridge between R&D, Procurement, Operations, Shared Services, equipment suppliers, and external EPC contractors. Mentors junior project engineers.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. (Master's in Engineering or Business is an advantage).

• Proven experience in project engineering, CAPEX management, or technical project delivery within an industrial or FMCG manufacturing environment.

• Hands-on experience managing capital projects (CAPEX), contractor management, vendor submissions, and reading complex engineering specifications.

• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) for purchase orders/CAPEX tracking and MS Project.

• Strong commercial acumen combined with technical discipline; comfortable operating independently in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.

• Fluent command of English and Thai (written and verbal) for interfacing with international suppliers and contractors
