Senior Java Backend Developer
Location: Remote, USA
Employment type: Contract
Indicative rate: $80–$90/hr
Contract roles for Java engineers developing, modernizing, and supporting enterprise backend applications and services. Work may include API development, integrations, batch processing, microservices, and production support in cloud or on-premises environments. Depending on the assignment, developers may contribute to architecture and technical design, collaborate with product and delivery teams, and help improve reliability, security, and performance.

Required qualifications
- Professional hands-on Java development experience
- Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications, backend services, or APIs

- Experience designing or integrating RESTful services
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Ability to write, test, debug, and maintain production-quality code
- Ability to translate functional or technical requirements into software solutions
- Experience working in a collaborative software delivery environment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Kafka, messaging, or event-driven architecture
- Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, or production operations
- Experience with batch processing, Linux, or system integrations
- Experience in payments, financial services, healthcare, or other regulated environments
