Country Manager (Freight Forwarding Business), Bangkok

Monroe Consulting Group, an award-winning executive recruitment firm, is partnering with a well-established multinational freight forwarding company to recruit an experienced Country Manager to lead the establishment and development of its logistics and freight forwarding business in Thailand. This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand.

This leadership role is responsible for building the local operation from the ground up, developing the commercial strategy, establishing key industry partnerships, and creating a high-performing local team. The successful candidate will work closely with regional and international stakeholders to establish a strong market presence in Thailand and drive sustainable business growth.

Job Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the Thailand business, including P&L, commercial performance, and operational activities.

• Develop and execute the country business strategy to establish the local operation and achieve revenue and profitability targets.

• Identify and develop new business opportunities, key accounts, and strategic partnerships to accelerate market growth.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with ocean carriers, airlines, logistics partners, and other relevant industry stakeholders.

• Establish and manage the initial local team, including recruitment, team development, performance management, and organizational structure.

• Oversee day-to-day freight forwarding operations and ensure high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

• Ensure the business operates in accordance with applicable customs regulations, trade requirements, and logistics compliance standards.

• Represent the Thailand operation professionally in the local market and build strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.

• Collaborate with senior management and overseas teams to leverage international resources, capabilities, and best practices.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for business expansion.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience in freight forwarding, shipping, logistics, or a closely related industry, with demonstrated responsibility for business growth and team management.

• Established network and relationships with customers, carriers, logistics providers, and other industry partners would be highly advantageous.

• Knowledge in freight operations, customs and logistic compliance

• Strong leadership, commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication skills in both Thai and English.
