General Manager

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead Mountain Beach Resort & Convention Center in Pattaya.

The General Manager will have full responsibility for the overall operation, financial performance, guest experience, people leadership and commercial success of the property. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a dynamic hotelier who can balance operational excellence with strong revenue generation and business development.

With 326 rooms, multiple F&B outlets, swimming pool and leisure facilities, and extensive meeting and event facilities , the property serves a diverse mix of leisure, groups, corporate, MICE, weddings and events. The successful candidate will be expected to maximize these opportunities while strengthening the hotel's market position and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Hotel Operations

• Provide overall leadership and direction across all hotel departments.
• Ensure smooth, efficient and consistent day-to-day hotel operations.
• Maintain high standards of guest service, cleanliness, safety and operational compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement across Rooms, F&B, Engineering, Security and Guest Services.
• Ensure hotel standards, SOPs and service procedures are consistently implemented.
• Be visible and accessible to guests, employees and key stakeholders.
• Proactively identify operational issues and implement effective solutions.

Commercial & Financial Performance

• Take full ownership of the hotel's financial and commercial performance.
• Develop and execute annual business plans, budgets and operational strategies.
• Drive revenue growth across Rooms, F&B, MICE, events and other revenue streams.
• Work closely with Sales, Revenue Management and Marketing to maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR and overall profitability.
• Monitor departmental P&L performance and implement corrective actions where required.
• Identify new revenue opportunities and develop strategies to improve profitability.
• Manage costs effectively while maintaining service and product standards.

MICE, Events & Groups

• Develop the hotel as a leading MICE, group and events destination in Pattaya.
• Work closely with Sales and Events teams to maximize utilization of meeting rooms, ballroom and event facilities.
• Build relationships with corporate clients, event organizers, travel partners, wedding planners and group operators.
• Ensure seamless coordination between Sales, Events, Banquets, F&B and Operations.
• Personally engage with key accounts and major events where appropriate.
• Ensure events are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed guest expectations.

Guest Experience

• Champion a strong guest-centric culture throughout the property.
• Monitor guest feedback, online reputation and service recovery.
• Develop initiatives to improve guest satisfaction and repeat business.
• Ensure guest complaints and service issues are resolved quickly and professionally.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen the hotel's positioning and overall guest experience.

People & Leadership

• Lead, motivate and develop the hotel's management team.
• Build a high-performance culture based on accountability, teamwork and service excellence.
• Identify talent development and succession planning opportunities.
• Ensure effective manpower planning and departmental productivity.
• Coach and mentor department heads and emerging leaders.
• Promote employee engagement, retention and professional development.
• Maintain strong communication between management and operational teams.

Sales & Market Development

• Work closely with the commercial team to strengthen the hotel's market position in Pattaya.
• Develop strategies targeting leisure, corporate, MICE, groups, weddings and domestic and international markets.
• Build strong relationships with key travel agencies, tour operators, corporate accounts and strategic partners.
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends and customer demand to identify new opportunities.
• Support the development of new packages, promotions and commercial initiatives.

Brand & Property Development

• Strengthen the positioning of Mountain Beach Resort as a competitive resort and convention property in Pattaya.
• Identify opportunities to improve the property's product, facilities and service offering.
• Work with ownership and corporate management on capital expenditure, renovation and improvement projects.
• Ensure all initiatives deliver measurable commercial or operational value.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Manager / Hotel Manager / Resort Manager in a full-service hotel or resort environment.
• Experience managing a property of 250+ rooms is strongly preferred.
• Strong background in hotel operations, commercial management and financial performance .
• Proven experience managing MICE, groups, banquets, weddings or large-scale events is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Rooms Division and F&B operations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, P&L, forecasting and cost control.
• Strong commercial mindset with proven revenue and business development capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of the Pattaya or wider Thailand hotel market would be an advantage.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
