Manager – Reinsurance Accounting (Assumed & Ceded)

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and review end-to-end processing of technical Statements of Account (SoA) for premiums, claims, and risk transactions across all reinsurance business lines.

- Review and reconcile financial transactions related to premiums, claims, recoveries, and brokerage in accordance with contract terms and accounting policies.

- Perform and review complex reinsurance calculations, including reinstatement premiums, profit commissions, sliding scale adjustments, and no-claims bonuses.

- Oversee unallocated cash management and aged receivable clearance, ensuring timely identification, matching, and resolution of outstanding items.

- Collaborate with brokers, reinsurers, underwriting teams, and finance stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records.

- Support management and regulatory reporting requirements while ensuring compliance with internal controls and reinsurance governance standards.

- Drive process improvements, strengthen operational controls, and identify automation opportunities to enhance efficiency and consistency.

- Establish structured governance through performance reviews, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting metrics to ensure transparency and operational excellence.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.

- Proven experience managing Reinsurance Accounting processes within the insurance or reinsurance industry.

- Strong understanding of insurance and reinsurance business operations, including Assumed and Ceded Reinsurance.

- Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis techniques.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage senior management and external partners.

- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.

- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
